Name: Anomalous
Webmistress: Jaimie Burrell
Type: Blog/Writing Collective
Anomalous wasn't always Anomalous. On August 4, 2006 I acquired hosting and set up my blog before any other site. Back then it was called Kihaku Shiteki. I chose Kihaku Shiteki because it meant "Poetic Soul" in Japanese. I usually abbreviated it KS, and for a year that is what my blog was called. Then, on August 4, 2007 my hosting ran out and all my sites, including my blog, disappeared. I also lost Adobe, but recently re-acquired it. On December 9, 2007 I reopened KS. Before I did anything, however, I decided to rename KS.
Kihaku Shiteki described me perfectly and it fit a writing collective. But, I was tired of a long name that I barely even used. So I found my notebook I used for school, and on the back I found some of my favorite words that I've learned in English class during Vocabulary lessons. I had a choice. Anomalous or Vitriolic?
Anomalous - adj. Departing from the usual; Abnormal
Vitriolic - adj. Caustic; Biting; Bitter; Scathing
I love both words and for a while the choice was hard. Anomalous described me and my writing because I am definitely abnormal, XD. I'm unique and not the same as someone else. Because my writing is part of me, I found that my writing was also "anomalous". Though I loved the way Vitriolic sounded when I said it, and it described my temper perfectly, I decided to go with Anomalous. On December 10, 2007 I made Anomalous' first layout and opened it up for public view.
Well, that's the history of Anomalous! I hope you enjoyed it!
About Anomalous
About the Current Layout
The current layout is actually the first of this style and color scheme. I was very surprised at the outcome. This is the first anime-oriented layout I have made in a while. Past layouts have been completely vectored layouts. Due to some demand, meaning you Kelsey-chan, I found the inspiration to make a layout using manga images. It took me a while to make this layout because I had been in a "graphic-slump." I was greatly displeased with past attempts.
Anyway, what surprised me the most about this layout is that it is generally PINK. I am a person who DESPISES pink. I hate it. I absolutely loathe it. What is funny is that I had deluded myself into thinking it was more of a light peach color scheme. That was a delusion that disappeared once I started coding it. The manga images featured are from the manga Yuuko-chan 100 Renpatsu!! (aka 100 Ways of an Exorcist). It's a very cute manga. The characters here are the main female and male. The female is Hai Yuuko and Mayu Kodabutsu.
It was created in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and coded in valid XHTML and CSS. I usually never take the time to validate my coding, but I was curious at how I coded. I am pleased to say that there were barely any errors at all. Enough gloating, eh? My overall impression on my layout is: Even though it's pink, I love it. It's simple, which is my (preferred)style, and cute. Everything is easy on the eyes, in my opinion. (At least I didn't use hot pink! -faints-) I even like the blue I incorporated into the coding for the "< u >" and "< em >" tags. Let me tell you a secret.
The blue did NOT come from the layout! It actually comes from my link back button, which was made from the layout two layouts ago. It was a daring attempt on my part, and I love it.
The name of the layout, "TiC TaC ToE", comes from the fact that Mayu Kodabutsu must survive each of the 100 ways of an exorcist as Hai Yuuko's boyfriend. I decided on "TiC TaC ToE" because throughout the manga they are forever "knocking down" a different way. Sort of like the domino affect. In my mind, I see each way completed as an "X" and each way not completed as an "O". Don't ask my why, I'm just weird like that. Well, that's all on this layout!
